The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) issued the following statement from President and CEO Jonathan Adelstein regarding the Senate Commerce Committee’s vote today to approve a five-year term at the Federal Communications Commission for Republican Commissioner Brendan Carr.
“We congratulate Commissioner Brendan Carr on his renomination to continue to serve on the Federal Communications Commission. WIA urges the full Senate to act swiftly in approving his new term. As expected, Commissioner Carr has proven to be an outstanding leader who consistently promotes policies designed to improve America’s broadband networks – from the responsible deployment of wireless infrastructure to workforce development and training issues. His leadership on promoting jobs, wireless broadband deployment and the US economy are exemplary and deserve recognition with the bipartisan support of the entire US Senate.”
